An authentic jeweled Easter Egg created in the workshop of Carl Fabergé during the firm’s golden period and attributed to Mikhail Perkhin, one of Fabergé’s leading masters. The piece bears the maker’s personal hallmark and stylistic features characteristic of Perkhin’s late 19th century work.

The egg measures 15.1 cm in height and weighs 417 grams. It is crafted in two-tone gold and silver, decorated with opalescent and pink guilloché enamel. The piece is set with 198 rose-cut diamonds and 16 cabochon rubies. The upper sphere is adorned with white opalescent enamel framed in silver and diamonds, while pink and white enamel panels are applied over a guilloché ground. Gold laurel garlands, ornamental borders, and diamond-set silver mounts enrich the surface.

The egg is mounted on a pedestal and opens to reveal its original surprise: a silver elephant with ruby eyes and gold tusks. The interior of the upper dome is lined with white velvet.

Unlike the Imperial Easter Eggs created for the Russian court, this example was made for a wealthy private client of the late 19th century. It represents one of the rare documented non-imperial Fabergé eggs with preserved provenance and reflects the exceptional craftsmanship and artistic standards of the Perkhin workshop at the height of its mastery.
